In 1966 Martin Cordell, whose Father In Law and many family members were Licensed London Taxi Drivers, saw how they struggled to deal with  their taxation affairs. He decided to set up a company that could handle accounts for taxi drivers and other sole traders. He realised that it was pointless making it a complicated issue and that it had to be explained in a plain and easy to understand way.

So Martin Cordell and Company was born, and today is the Largest Taxi Drivers Accountants in London handling thousands of Licensed Taxi Drivers accounts using state of the art computer systems with software written exclusively for the company, but don’t worry, if you are not familiar with computers, as it is all  explained to you very easily (on screen) by our expert staff.

The success of the company, now employing some fifty staff, with four office locations in the UK, is due to the ability to bring a complicated tax system down to an easy to understand level, and the good working relationship we have established with clients, tax offices, and all relevant trade organisations

All staff  are trained within the Martin Cordell organisation to enable everybody to discuss all aspects of the Accounting trade with our clients, in a way that is best for them to understand.

Our computer systems will track each client, ensuring that all paperwork is dealt with at the correct time. The system also directs clients to the same accountant each year, in order that we build up a client-to-accountant relationship with ongoing continuity.

Martin Cordell himself is very active in every aspect of the taxi trade from accounting to advising clients about purchasing the right taxi, and ensures that his staff are also trained in all areas of the taxi trade. His motto is “If you do not understand the product, you cannot do the accounts”.
